The Question - Who Painted The World
One sunny morning in 1999, I was sitting in the living room as my daughters Ami, 4 and Melia, 6 were finger painting on the dining room table. I was privileged to receive a gift and witness an event that was about to change my life forever and lead me down a path of incredible miracles and learning that ultimately led to an understanding and sense of peace that I have never experienced before this point in my life.
I looked over at my daughters and saw a moment of awareness in Ami. She was painting and looked up, then around the room, then looked outside the living room window with a quizzical look on her face. She then looked straight into my eyes and soul with that curious expression and asked the most profound and startling question I had ever been asked in my life.
“Dad, who painted the world?”
I felt a rush and the hairs tingle on my neck and instinctively replied, “Who painted the world?................................ Well, you do honey”.
Now I’m sure that other parents have had insightful questions from their kids that challenged them. For me, this question rocked the very foundations of “who I thought I was and what I thought I knew”. I realized in that moment that I had to find out for myself that what my instinct had just stated was true. This simple event led me on a 6 year adventure of learning and experience into the fields of philosophy, psychology, spirituality, metaphysics, truth studies, conflict resolution and human nature in relationship.
The Answer - The Bridge of Possibilities - About the Workshop We do paint and create the world we experience through our beliefs, values and thoughts. Our interpretations, assumptions and opinions of the meaning of events, values, roles and the expectations, demands and conclusions we arrive at through our mental processes determine what “we think” is possible. Change your interpretation of meaning and you build a bridge to a new possibility!
